Sit.Stay.Love event at Anthropologie Beverly Hills

I was honored that for the second year in a row Anthropologie asked me to shoot their Sit.Stay.Love event at their Beverly Hills store.  The event at this store brought animals in need of adoption from the  Much Love Animal Rescue and fun was had by all (humans, employees and dogs!)

It didn ‘t take much convincing on my part to have the Anthropologie store employees shoot photos with these rescued dogs.

The Best is Yet to Come: The Songs of Cy Coleman at The Grammy Museum at LA LIVE

This was such an incredible event.

New West Records has released a provocative, cutting-edge album entitled “The Best is Yet to Come.” The album features inspiring interpretations of Cy Coleman songs. Artists who participated in this project include Patty Griffin, Madeline Peyroux and Missy Higgins. Cy Coleman is responsible for timeless songs, such “Witchcraft,” “The Best is Yet to Come,” and “Big Spender.” All tracks were arranged by the very impressive producer/pianist Dave Palmer.

The event took place at The Grammy Museum at LA Live and featured performances by Jill Sobule, Sara Watkins (of Nickel Creek), Perla Batalla and Julianna Raye.

ASCAP’s Women Behind the Music series at the Highlands

I recently had the honor of shooting a wonderful evening of music. ASCAP had its inaugural Women Behind the Music series at The Highlands in Hollywood.

The evening was such an inspirational evening with such an amazingly talented group of female singer/songwriters. It featured live performances from Goapele, Rachel Assil, Liz Paige and Electrik Red. The evening was hosted by Radio Free 102.3 KJLH on-air personality Adai Lamar, and featured special guest DJ Kill Him aka Kim Hill.

21st Annual ASCAP Film & Television Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis

I had the pleasure once again to photograph ASCAP’s Film & Television Scoring Workshop. This year it was at Warner Bros. Studios.

I am so impressed by the talents of these aspiring young film composers. The highlight of the workshop is the evening when the participants get the opportunity to record their music with virtually the same resources afforded Oscar-winning composers.

Shout Out on (Oh So) Beautiful Paper’s Blog

Last week (Oh So) Beautiful Paper’s blog featured my work along with letterpress designer Stephanie Sponsel of Les Fleur de Papier. I originally met Stephanie in a letterpress class at Otis College of Art and Design and we have been friends ever since.

She was the mastermind and designer behind her husband Brian’s 40th birthday party at the Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach and it was a spectacular event.

The blog featured her amazing letterpress work which I photographed at the party. I included a photo of the shoes she wore that night because her husband bought them for her for their wedding anniversary (Manolo’s no less). Now that’s a husband.

The party was also recently featured on Party Spot, which is a division of The Knot. Click here to view that feature.

You can view my slideshow from Brian’s birthday party here.
