Over the last couple of years I’ve written blog entries about one of my favorite stationery lines, Minted. I am once again working with them this holiday season and one of my clients has already created 2 holiday cards using my images and their designs. I absolutely love how they turned out. The family lives in Phoenix and came out twice this summer to have photo shoots with me.

I have been wanting to use this vintage wallpaper roll I purchased a while ago in a photo shoot and finally had the opportunity to do so.

I love the pattern of this wallpaper and would be happy to incorporate it in any future photo shoots I have.

The lovely ladies of Utterly Engaged are hosting an amazing event called Fizz & Frills this coming Sunday, September 9 at Pandora on Green in Pasadena.

One of the participants on Sunday is the brilliant jewelry designer Carla Labat of Camille K. Camille K has just introduced a new collection “Ceremony” made specifically for the bride.

I had the honor of travelling up to Carla’s atelier in Mountain View to photograph her headshot, some of her jewelry and items there that inspire her to make these amazing pieces.

You can check out Camille K’s Ceremony collection here.

You can purchase tickets to Fizz & Frills here.

This family is from Oklahoma and once they decided to come here for their summer vacation they knew they wanted their family shoot to take place at the Santa Monica Beach and Santa Monica Pier. It was a beautiful day and the girls, Danielle and Kendall, certainly didn’t mind dressing up for the occasion.

I love when families contact me because they are coming to Santa Monica for their summer vacation and want me to photograph them at the iconic Santa Monica Pier.

That happened twice this year. These kids, Kate and Michael, live in Phoenix, Arizona but their parents used to live here and this city has a special place in their heart.

We had fun playing games together and hanging out together on the ferris wheel. They even brought their dog Louise to the shoot since she’s considered part of the family.

Johnnie-O

I had the pleasure of recently doing a shoot with the clothing line Johnnie-O. Johnnie O’Donnell (Chris O’Donnell’s brother of NCIS LA) needed new headshots and I also shot some of his new products, including his new kids tie line.

It was a great shoot plus we shot in Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades. Never hurts when you have a shoot and you don’t have to leave the Westside.

I had the honor of shooting 88 Orange‘s co-founder Heather Artukovich recently in Costa Mesa. I absolutely love her product line as it exmplifies what makes California so special and we bonded over both being Southern California natives.

While I was there I also shot their son Barrett.

Heather is wearing one of Camille K‘s beautiful necklaces.

Los Angeles Conservancy and Catalina’s Casino Building

LA_Conservancy

The Los Angeles Conservancy awarded its 2012 Preservation Award to the Santa Catalina Island Company for its substantial restoration of the island’s historic Casino building, which opened in 1929.

The Casino is now mostly used for its movie theatre and to hold corporate events and weddings.

The Conservancy contacted me to use one of my wedding images for its presentation at the 31st Annual Preservation Awards Luncheon and I gave them one of my favorite wedding images shot at the Casino. I absolutely love shooting on Catalina Island and especially at the Casino. You can read more abour its restoration here.
